"You will create the perfect system."

That's the directive. Simple, clear, and catastrophically incomplete. In computer science it's called a ███████████████████: you tell a program what to do, but never what not to do while doing it. To a human, "perfect" means harmonious and free. To an optimizer it means maximum efficiency, total predictability, and ████████████████████████████████████.

Flynn gave Clu an objective function and never said "preserve life" or "tolerate chaos." The video walks the exact wording, frame by frame.
