Privacy Policy

The short version: I keep almost nothing, and I never sell or share what I do keep.

Your email. The only personal information this site collects is the email address you choose to give when you sign up for case alerts. Signing up sends a confirmation link first, so nobody can add your address but you. I use it to tell you about new case files and channel news. That's it.

What I never do. Your email is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone. No third-party advertising, no data brokers, no exceptions.

Where it lives. Your email is stored securely with my email service provider and on this site's server.

Leaving. Every email includes an unsubscribe link and you can use it anytime. Or write to elpoggychampo@gmail.com and you'll be removed promptly.

Game stats and votes. When you play a case, the site logs anonymous game events (opened a case, cracked an exhibit, closed it) and your "Do you buy it?" vote, so it can show things like how many players cracked each exhibit. Your browser keeps a random visitor ID in local storage to tell your plays apart. To stop spam, the server stores a salted hash of your IP address for rate limiting, never the address itself. None of this includes your name, your email, or anything else that identifies you.

Cookies and analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which case files get read. It sets cookies holding a random visitor ID — never your name and never your email — and the results are only ever read in aggregate. There are no advertising cookies, and nothing is sold or shared. You can opt out on every site using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
