Jurassic Park 3's Opening is a LIE (and the script proves it)

"What was that?" — "I don't know."

When the Spinosaurus hits the barge later, it rips off the wheelhouse, bites a chunk out of the stern, and lifts the whole thing clear of the water. The vessel sinks. But the opening boat emerges from the ███ intact — driverless, still moving, only sinking when it hits the reef. A seven-to-nine-ton animal would leave fiberglass confetti, not a functioning boat.

And the screenplay notes what the parasailers felt through the tow line: a sudden ███, like a single body lifted off the deck — not a multi-ton collision. The video opens on that physics mismatch.

"The cabin is surprisingly intact, just a little blood. There are three gashes on the driver's seat back."

That's the deleted beach scene. Grant measures the spacing with his fingers. The Spinosaurus has a crocodilian jaw with conical teeth — it punctures or crushes, and a claw swipe would ██████████████, not score it cleanly. A raptor leaves one sickle gash, maybe two, and would have to board a speeding boat in open water.

What leaves █████ clean parallel gashes is something with three grasping talons. The video lays out why the spacing matches only one animal.

"On this island, there is no such thing as safe."

Grant finds a trail of three-toed tracks in the wet sand, says "No, we're not" — and the ██████████ erupt from the tree line to attack the helicopters. Setup and payoff. Same predator that later dives out of the aviary fog and plucks Eric off the catwalk. The screenplay even notes a gaping hole already in the aviary mesh, a structure abandoned for years.

Which means they weren't locked up. They were hunting offshore weeks before Grant landed — the happy ending where they soar past the helicopter isn't a prison break, it's confirmation. How the cut payoff solves the opening is the whole case in the video.
